Nel 1993, la mostra “Rules of the game” è stata presentata a Stoccolma dall’artista Felix Gmelin. La mostra è stata una delle prime nel suo genere in Svezia e ha presentato opere di 15 artisti (tra cui Anders Widoff, Cecilia Edefalk, Jan Svenungsson e Charlotte Gyllenhammar) in 15 luoghi diversi nel centro di Stoccolma. Nella mostra, agli artisti è stato chiesto di agire nel territorio cittadino, ma senza scegliere dove. Infatti, le posizioni sono state determinate come risultato del gioco dello stagno in cui ogni sfera lanciata ha rappresentato il posto dove ciascun artista poteva muoversi ed esporre il propo lavoro. Che cosa accade quando la probabilità è l’inizio per una mostra? Quale sarà il risultato quando entreremo in luoghi precedentemente sconosciuti? Per il progetto estivo di KKH, che è una parte opzionale del corso estivo KKH 2018, abbiamo scelto di utilizzare lo scenario di The Rules of the Game come punto di partenza. In questa versione, abbiamo lasciato il centro città e invece ci siamo concentrati sulla periferia meridionale di Stoccolma, e la palla da biliardo è stata sostituita da un dardo. All’inizio del corso, ogni studente ha ricevuto un dardo che ha poi dovuto gettare su stampe di mappe sparse e non ordinate dei sobborghi meridionali di Stoccolma. Dove il dardo è atterrato è andato a definirsi il punto di partenza per il loro lavoro come presentato qui in mostra.
Indagine attraverso la periferia meridionale di Stoccolma, la natura, il corpo e la pittura. Ne sono risultati diciotto piccoli dipinti ad olio e pigmenti raffiguranti viste naturali di Stoccolma.

In 1993, the exhibition “The rules of the Game” was presented in Stockholm, an initiative of the artist Felix Gmelin. The exhibition was one of the first in its kind in Sweden and presented works by 15 artists (including Anders Widoff, Cecilia Edefalk, Jan Svenungsson and Charlotte Gyllenhammar) in 15 different locations in central Stockholm. In the exhibition, the artists were given free hands to act in the city, but without choosing where. Instead, locations were determined as a result of a pool game where each ball represented the place for the work to be presented.What happens when chance is the start for an exhibition? What will the outcome be when we enter previously unknown places? For KKH’s summer project, which is an optional part of the KKH Summer Course 2018, we have chosen to use the show The Rules of the Game as our starting point. In this version, we left the inner city and instead focused on Stockholm’s southern suburbs, and the pool ball has been replaced by a dart. At the start of the course, each student received one dart that they then had to throw on scattered and unsorted map prints of Stockholm’s southern suburbs. Where the dart landed became the starting point for their work as presented here in the exhibition.
